Many years ago a gave a talk of the same title at a Christian Women conference held at Divine Commission church in London, which proved to be ‘A word in season’.
What it simply means is love is active not passive.
You cannot say you love your spouse and not show it in a way that is evident and beneficial. When you love someone you want to do things for them and it is this action that qualifies it as a verb. Don’t wait for a birthday, holiday or other special occasion before you show love, practice showing love to your spouse at every opportunity. Afterall, love is not just the ability to say it, but to express it in a way your spouse or loved ones can understand and appreciate.
