If you haven’t already heard, 50 is the new 40. Or is it the new 30? Either way, there’s no reason why you can’t have success in the dating department. It’s time to stop feeling desperate and find a good man to share your life with. So what’s a girl – of a certain age – to do when it comes to dating men over 50?
Bring out his masculinity
This may sound old-fashioned, but many men over the age of 50 want you to bring out their masculinity. They aren’t interested in competing with you in any way – that’s like hanging out with another dude! Instead, learn to use your feminine wiles to complement their masculinity.
Appreciate him for who he is
This should be a no-brainer, but some women need the reminder. Men just don’t think like women and they certainly don’t communicate like women, either. So, don’t be shocked when a man, no matter what age, just doesn’t get your subtle hints. Be upfront and you won’t be sorry.
Let him give to you
Men actually like to spoil women in most cases. It has nothing to do with feminism but everything to do with chivalry. So, let him open the door for you or reach that jar off the top shelf. Let him please you, but just remember to show your appreciation. And remember, many men show their love through their actions – not through their words.
Stop being so critical
If your special guy is taking the time to do something for you, by all means, stop criticizing him! He’s probably doing his best – don’t tell him you can do it better or faster. No one wants the aggravation of not being able to do anything right in the eyes of the one he adores. And, don’t even try to make him your pet project!
Stop being so demanding
At a certain point in your life – and this goes for both men and women – you’ll know exactly what you what from a relationship. However, you shouldn’t be so outwardly demanding. It’s not a good idea to place demands on what a guy must do in order to date you, or even be your friend. It’s obnoxious and unattractive.
While these dating tips aren’t going to guarantee you a long-lasting relationship, they may make it easier to start on the path.
